LAKE CORRIB.

Black ink and wash on 300 gram watercolour paper. A set of 20 images.

July and August 2023

These ink and wash landscapes record the changing moods of light and weather on the shores of Lake Corrib in Ireland, the rising and descending mists, the clouds rolling in and out and the continuously fluctuating world of water reflections. The reflective lake, with its backdrop of hills and mountains and the numerous small islands seemingly floating in its waters, takes on an other-worldly, almost transcendent aspect at times, which these liquid and freely-worked paintings rendered on robust watercolor paper, attempt to capture.
